It comes after The Sun Inn in Godalming was crowned Best Community Public House by Independent Family Brewer Hall & Woodhouse....beating hundreds of other contenders.
Duncan and wife Tracey have run the pub for almost seven years during which time the pro-active publican has made The Sun one of the most successful pubs in the town.
''I'm thrilled to have been given this fantastic acolade.'' smiles Duncan. ''This pub means so much to the community, and the community means so much to us!
''It has meant a great deal of hard work, but these days you have to work hard to entice customers into a pub. That's what we try to do....there's always something going on for all ages.
''We also have a tremendous group of regular customers of all ages which helps. Now, for somebody outside that community to aknowledge this is great.'' adds Duncan.
He received a prize of 250 GBP as well as a bespoke plate and bottle of champagne. He will also be taken on a European city break later this year.
Matt Ke****y, Business Partnerships Director at Hall & Woodhouse explained: '' I'd like to thank Duncan for his continued hard work and we are very proud of what he has achieved.''
