Meanwhile, The Merry Harriers at Hambledon near Godalming can offer a romantic country pub style venue, and is offering a glass of champagne for anyone taking up their Valentines Night menu.

The £28.00 pp menu includes:

Scallops with Fennel Ceviche & Red Pepper Foam

Orange Glazed Duck Breast Salad

Italian Style Minestrone Soup

and Main courses of

Lamb Cutlets served with Mint Mash & Baby Carrots

Fillet of Sea Bass served on a bed of Pak Choi and Vine Roasted Tomatoes

Sweet Potato and Ricotta Gnocchi with Baby Spinach and Cherry tomatoes

Of course, Italians claim to be the most romantic when it comes to Valentines Day. So you can expect to find a suitable romantic atmosphere and splendid food at Godalming's famous La Luna restaurant in Wharf Street. Not to be missed.

Elsewhere, The Refectory restaurant and bar at Milford is offering a two course menu for £19.95 or a three course for £24.95.

Starters include a chice of three to share, such as seared scallop on minted pea puree with semi fried tomato and black pudding and pulled pork terrine, with Mains that incliude a 14 oz Bavette steak served pink, with garlic mushrooms, braised tomatoes, served on a board with chips and bearnaise sauce, or Wellington of Pork.
