What an insult!....how can the new edition of the Loneley Planet travel guide brand Surrey with its' beautiful spots such as Godalming and the surrounding villages as being made up of uninspiring towns and dull, sprawling suburbs?
Have the authors ever been here? Do they not know that the area is classed as an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Maybe they've got us mixed up with Milton Keynes!
Local MP and Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt has been quick to defend us. On his Twitter page he comments: "Surrey is sensational! Lonely Planet should visit Farnham, Godalming or Haslemere & note we have more trees than any other county..."
What do you think?
