Now the rumour mill can move into full swing......and once again it seems that whispers that Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge could soon be residing in Hambledon near Godalming are rife once again.
It comes since plans to build a massive 20 million GBP mansion near Hambledon, were finally given the go-ahead.
Proposals for the 12-bedroom property to be built on the site of Nutbourne Brickworks with four staff houses were agreed by Waverley Council . The identity of the future residents of the property have remained a mystery...and still stays a closely guarded secret. The brickworks closed in 1990 and the site was mothballed before it was acquired by Millgate Homes. The developer says it has a buyer for the proposed country house estate.
Millgate Homes, owners of the 220-acre site in Roundals Lane, wants to develop the land, which is green belt and an area of outstanding natural beauty.
As those who have followed the saga for the building of the proposed mansion for months before the Royal Wedding, will recall that rumours have abounded that the luxury residence would be fit for a future King. So what do you think? Could we soon see Prince William mingling with the locals down at The Merry Harriers or we could we soon see The Duchess shopping down at the village shop?
Clarence House denies the mansion is for the Royal couple. But as the rumours continue, do you think the happy Royal couple would be ideal neighbours for the reisdents of Hambledon? Would you welcome them into the area? Or do you think it could cause problems?
